Build a job around your routine.
Open Batch tools and choose Use a reusable job. Give it a short name, such as Application packet. Add rotation, compression or page-number steps. Use Earlier and Later to arrange them, Duplicate to repeat a step, or Remove to leave it out. Your settings stay in the draft while you work.
Choose one finished result.
Choose a PDF copy, selectable text, or page images in a ZIP. The PDF steps run in their displayed order before that final export. A job with no PDF steps can simply copy or export the inputs. Text export does not run OCR; image output does not keep links, form controls or selectable text. Picture compression may lose detail and does not guarantee a smaller file.
Keep it for next time.
Save job keeps the name and steps on this computer. Load saved jobs, select one and choose Use selected job to return to it. Change the name and save to rename it, or choose Save as new job to keep a separate version. Removing a saved job keeps your current draft, PDF files and existing queues.
Review the actual files and output names.
Add PDFs from disk and choose a local output folder. Unsaved edits in open documents are not batch inputs. Choose Preview output names to check the exact steps, final format and destination for each file. You can run a reviewed draft without saving it in the job library first. Once planned, the queue keeps its own copy of the job.
Run it, with a result for each file.
Choose Run / retry unfinished. Pagekind works through one file at a time and shows step progress. Only the final output is published, under a new name. A failed file does not stop the remaining inputs. Locked, signed or certified PDFs and XFA forms fail individually; a page range that does not exist in a particular input fails that file.
Pause and return without guessing.
Cancel keeps completed results. Verify results checks the actual output files before retrying. After an interruption, Recover an interrupted queue brings back its reviewed settings and results. Retry unfinished starts each incomplete file again from its original reviewed input; completed files are kept. New queue clears the queue record while retaining finished outputs. Save result report creates a local report with file paths and outcomes.
Check the first result before a large run.
Select a completed row and choose View result to check the actual output. Open PDF in Pagekind keeps it in its own editable tab; text and ZIP results have read-only previews. Learn how to view results and check an interrupted opening. Page numbers are 11-point visible footer content at the bottom center. They can cover an existing footer and do not change logical page labels. Rotation affects everything already on that page, so step order matters. Inspect a completed sample before applying the job to a large collection.
Let a folder bring the next file.
After saving a Batch job, find Watched folders in All tools. Choose the saved job and separate local input and output folders, then choose Start watching. It runs only while Pagekind is open. PDFs already in the input folder are excluded unless you select Also include PDFs already in the input folder when I start. Finish copying existing files before Start when their inclusion matters.
New or changed PDFs directly in the input folder wait until their file details settle before processing, one at a time. Subfolders are not scanned. Each result uses a new output name, and the per-file list shows what completed or needs attention. Inputs are saved PDFs on disk, not unsaved edits in open tabs. Use a small dedicated folder and check the first output.
Pause the folder, keep the results.
Pause stops the current request and checks its result before confirming the paused state. Resume is your choice. Stop ends the job while keeping source files, saved outputs and results. A failed or uncertain unchanged input is not automatically rerun.
After restarting Pagekind, choose Find previous folder jobs and Recover paused job. Recovery does not restart processing automatically. If stopping needs attention, keep Pagekind open and use Retry stopping; new folder work waits until stopping is confirmed. A result may remain unverified, so a retry is not a guaranteed repair.
Watched folders does not install a Windows startup task or run after the app closes. Network folders, links and overlapping input/output folders are refused. Manual Batch tools remain available and unchanged.
Available in the unsigned Pagekind 0.65.0 engineering preview. Jobs run locally with up to twelve PDF steps and one final output; this feature does not run scripts, upload files or store passwords. Automated checks use unshown controls and real saved outputs. Human accessibility and clean Windows checks remain separate release work.
