Return with Back.
After a page-number, bookmark, thumbnail or Find-result jump, choose Back below the page-number controls. Alt+Left does the same. Forward or Alt+Right revisits the next place in that document’s view history. These controls follow visited places; the adjacent-page arrows still move through the document in page order.
Keep the useful position.
A view remembers the page, zoom, fit mode and reading position. Zoom keeps the same point near the center when the scroll limits allow it. Each open PDF has its own history, so switching documents does not mix their destinations.
Follow a search result.
Use Find to search the PDF, then choose a match. The result list remains available. Back returns to your prior view, and you can choose another match without repeating the search.
Understand when history starts again.
Saving a copy of the same document keeps its view history. Editing, page operations and PDF Undo/Redo clear earlier destinations because the pages may have changed. A new jump after Back replaces the abandoned forward branch. View history keeps up to 100 positions per tab and lasts for the current app session.
Keep unfinished work safe.
A draft that cannot be applied remains editable and prevents departure. If the destination cannot be rendered, Pagekind keeps the prior preview and history and reports the error. After resolving the problem, try the navigation again.
Included in the 0.65.0 Windows preview. Back and Forward operate on the main PDF view; Print, Compare and Redact retain their separate preview controls. View navigation does not edit the PDF or create an Undo entry. The history also works with continuous reading.
