Choose the place to keep.
Open Read & select, move to the page and view you want, then choose Keep this reading place. Save pending PDF edits first. If you used Save a copy, the place refers to that saved copy. New unsaved PDFs need their first saved copy.
Return from the start screen.
Choose Pagekind start and find Pick up where you left off. Each card shows the filename, folder and page. Return to reading checks the file before restoring its page, zoom, fit and single or continuous view. If the PDF is already open, Pagekind activates its current workspace and keeps its current view.
Handle a file that moved or changed.
If the file is missing or its contents changed, the saved view is not applied. Your current PDF remains open. Use Open to choose the current file normally, then keep a new place if wanted. Pagekind does not search other folders for it. Protected PDFs ask for their password again.
Keep the list useful.
The start screen initially shows four places. Show all reveals up to twenty, ordered by the last explicit Keep action. Keeping the same path updates its place. Remove and Clear saved places remove entries from the list; they leave your PDFs, favorites and recovery workspaces intact.
Understand what is stored.
Only places you explicitly keep are recorded on this device. Ordinary opening, scrolling and closing do not add history. The list contains paths, file identities and view settings, with no PDF text, thumbnails or passwords. It reopens saved files one at a time; later unsaved changes belong to Recover.
Available in the 0.65.0 engineering preview for direct local saved PDFs up to 512 MiB and saved page positions below 20,000. Storage or verification errors leave ordinary PDF opening available.
