Choose the picture you want to change.
Open a PDF, choose Edit, then Edit pictures. Select an outlined picture on the page or choose it from the numbered list. The list also shows its pixel dimensions. If the same logo appears several times, each placement has its own selection.
Replace it or add something new.
Choose Replace picture and select a PNG or JPEG. Keep proportions fits it inside the selected frame; Fill current frame stretches it to that frame. Transparent PNGs keep their transparency. Add picture places a new picture in the middle of the current page and selects it so you can position it.
Make it fit the page.
- Move: drag the selected outline to a new position.
- Resize: drag its corner handle. Keep proportions is on by default.
- Position precisely: expand Exact position and size, enter percentages of the visible page and choose Apply position and size. Changing width updates height while proportions are locked.
- Turn or mirror: choose Rotate left, Rotate right, Flip horizontal or Flip vertical.
The outline previews a drag. Releasing applies the change to your working PDF; Escape cancels it. Undo restores an applied change. Remove picture removes the selected placement, and Undo brings it back.

Download the two-page picture practice PDF and the transparent replacement picture. Replace the first green picture, then check that the other green pictures stay the same. Try moving it, undoing the move and saving a new copy.
Know what can be edited.
Some PDFs put pictures inside grouped objects, store them as inline images or use stencil masks and optional layers. Those pictures are listed with an explanation but cannot be edited yet. A picture with a clipping path can be replaced while keeping that clip; movement and rotation are unavailable. Vector artwork is separate from embedded pictures. Convert a CMYK replacement to RGB in your image editor first.
Adding or changing pictures does not create accessibility tags or alternate text. If the PDF needs to be accessible, review those details in a suitable authoring tool.
