The app also exports reviewed existing-text tables to XLSX/CSV, creates one PDF text-field copy from an explicitly mapped CSV row, and runs explicitly started saved folder jobs while open.
Connection sharing remains unavailable; these PDF tools require no sharing enrollment.
The app has no account, upload service, paid tier or app analytics. Outputs use a
new filename and preserve the input.

Platform: Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. Per-machine installer requires administrator
access; a local portable ZIP is also built. Current binary is unsigned.
Price: free engineering preview. Runtime redistribution entitlement remains a
production-release gate.

Current 0.65 evidence: 4426 core tests, 6964 offscreen desktop assertions in 87 groups and 1311
requests through the worker extracted from the portable package. The shipped
control inventory covered 632 declared routes, with 27,836 control observations and no missing names.
Calculated text contrast passed for 34,495 evaluated observations; 48 remained unevaluated. These are development-machine
checks, not a clean-Windows or complete accessibility certification.
Historical generated editing corpus: 36 of 41 attempts exactly
matched their expected render at 144 DPI; 5 unsupported cases were refused. This is
a synthetic, declared corpus, not a measured 87.8% success rate on all real PDFs.
That same packaged-engine check covers 1311 action calls with content/read-back checks, including OCR,
live text and forms, page insertion/replacement/crop, bookmarks, window ownership,
password history, recovery, catalog/label preservation, spacing refusal, undo/redo and rejected values.
Historical 0.10.0 independent preservation checks: 19 constructed PDF Association examples,
35 pages preserved exactly on complete reorder at 144 DPI across 91 worker calls. Nine same-text checks
preserve pixels; eight are refused; two have no text to check. This is neither
new-text accuracy on arbitrary PDFs nor an accessibility-conformance assessment.
Same-size appearance checks preserve 11 inputs exactly, refuse six and have two
inputs without text; no original is modified.
Historical 0.8.0 comparison checks: 19 independent examples / 35 pages / 38 packaged calls
recognize unchanged pages and exact selected details. This is unchanged detection,
not general changed-page matching accuracy.

Comparison matching is heuristic, with summary/detail rendering up to 72/144 DPI.
HTML reports contain unprotected document content.

Text styling has 15 independently authored exact golden page comparisons, covering
object/page rotation, fill and outline, explicit glyph advances and font completion.
Changing translucent text colors is refused to preserve opacity; sizes can change.

Four separately authored typeface examples verify bold, italic and serif choices
exactly, with their untouched companion pages. Installed static TrueType fonts are
supported; variable/other outline formats and translucent/outlined font changes are
refused. Font paths and draft family-name resolution remain local.

Paragraph reflow has 31 focused core cases, including independently authored
expected PDF pages, subset fonts, blank lines, repeated spaces, overflow, nearby
graphics and annotations, original preservation and remembered session frames.

Limits: mixed-style paragraph reflow, complex-script editing and nested graphic text are not
supported. Unreproducible glyph spacing is refused. Font substitutions require a choice. OCR uses installed Windows language
packs. Scoped isolated installation checks have completed; full clean-machine
coverage, physical offline verification and remaining UI checks are not complete. Cropping hides content but does not remove it; it is not
redaction. Whole-page replacement removes the old page's annotations and can remove
destinations pointing to it. Unreviewed custom annotation appearances cannot be
transformed, and annotation locks are respected. The preview is not a production-certified release.

using synthetic documents in the 0.13 interface. The 0.36 audit retains these reference images and performs no screen capture or full-window image generation. Logo assets may be reproduced to identify this product accurately.

No independent reviews, customer totals or third-party endorsements are claimed.
The previous internal working name QuietPDF was retired due to existing products
using that name; Pagekind has no affiliation with those products.

Picture editing in 0.15: add PNG/JPEG, replace individual occurrences, move/resize with proportions locked, rotate/flip/remove and Undo. Dedicated PDF fixtures and native controls verify output without desktop control. A sixth practical guide includes a two-page PDF and transparent replacement picture. Grouped/inline/layer/mask images remain read-only; clipped images allow replacement only.

Form design in 0.16: add text fields, checkboxes and dropdowns, position and label them, configure rules and test live filling. Undo, preserved values, rotated appearances and saved copies have core/native/frozen coverage. A seventh guide and workshop signup practice PDF explain the workflow. No automatic detection, tab-order controls, radio-group design, scripts, XFA or new accessibility tagging are claimed.

Printing in 0.17: choose selected pages, paper, sizing and image quality; preview locally, then explicitly submit to a Windows destination. Real local XPS output, cancellation before submission and failure cleanup are tested without printer access. No physical device/driver result is claimed. An eighth practical guide explains the workflow. Network printing is an explicit transfer to the user-selected destination.

Favorites in 0.18: pin, search, reorder and remove usual tools, then access them across groups and on the start screen. Local settings contain tool identifiers only. Native/storage checks cover failed writes, competing window updates, invalid/future data, actual junction refusal, draft protection and new-window reload. No human accessibility or clean-OS result is claimed.

Batch in 0.19: plan local compression/text/page-image exports for up to 200 PDFs, run serially, cancel/retry unfinished files, verify exact outputs, recover an interrupted queue and save a local report. No passwords are stored. Chosen disk files remain separate from unsaved editing workspaces. Changed inputs and unknown/occupied outputs require attention. Multi-step recipes, batch OCR, folder scanning and scripts are not included.

Document tabs in 0.20: each PDF keeps separate applied edits, history, saved state, password and page/zoom settings. Valid drafts apply before switching; invalid drafts stay editable in their tab. Closing a saved background tab keeps the active PDF selected. Window close reviews unsaved documents and can retain an unreadable workspace. Recovery restores multiple documents into tabs, and failed loading offers a retry without stale page controls. Tab/password records remain in memory. No split view, saved tab-order restoration, cross-tab page dragging or Save All is claimed.

Redacted image copies in 0.21: mark areas, preview the exact masked pixels, and export a fresh PDF with no copied original objects or hidden payloads. Every page becomes an unencrypted image, losing search, selectable text, live forms, links, bookmarks, accessibility tags and certificate signatures. Originals/history are not sanitized. Local mark undo/redo and per-tab close guards protect unfinished marks. A lost export reply triggers actual structure/pixel verification; existing files are never overwritten. This is not object-preserving redaction, automated secret detection, secure disk erasure or Acrobat parity.

Save recovery in 0.22: durable local intent and exact saved-byte checks reconcile interrupted publication without rewriting the output. Unverified results retain working copies, and Recover displays the verified output location. Save retains PDF history and encryption. Batch progress preserves selected rows and scroll position. Process-interruption tests are not physical power-loss tests.

Live paragraph width in 0.23: resize supported text boxes horizontally while preserving the original font, baselines and available lines. Continued drafts, width-only edits, collisions and Undo/Redo are verified. Text/style fields, color swatches and width controls remain responsive during live writes. Other actions retain busy guards. This is not mixed-style reflow, complex-script editing or automatic frame growth.

Live paragraph height in 0.24: add or remove available lines with immediate bottom-edge feedback. Width and line capacity change together while preserving the first baseline, original font and spacing. Later edited paragraphs, continued drafts, Undo/Redo and recovery retain their text references and geometry. Invalid capacity, overflow and collisions remain editable drafts. Cleared paragraphs can be selected again through their frame or the remembered-paragraph list, with original appearance retained. This is explicit sizing, not automatic growth, mixed-style reflow or complex-script editing.

Version 0.25 improves original-font line editing for recoverable character positions and generated word gaps. It preserves adjacent unchanged spacing, checks the selected saved text and supports combined word, size and color edits. A fixed 180-case NIST sample includes 131 accepted cases, with 46 unchanged-text results exact at 144 and 288 DPI. This is one technical document, not a general customer success rate or broader paragraph support.

Version 0.26 adds Save open copies: reviewed local names, changed-document defaults, separate per-file results, retained passwords and history, and stopping after the current verified copy. Invalid drafts and unexported redaction marks block ordinary saves. The selected page/tool remains in place; interrupted results use the existing verified save receipts. The NIST corpus figures above describe the separately measured 0.25 engine, not a repeated 0.26 corpus campaign.

Version 0.27 adds Read & select: drag a passage on the page, use a keyboard-accessible read-only text panel, and copy a selection or current page locally. Unicode boundaries, rotated/cropped geometry, reader/owner permissions and unreliable-mapping refusals are explicit. A separate 41-page independent model check establishes geometry/Unicode integrity, not semantic reading order. Selection does not edit the PDF. Interactive reading has a 100,000-character-entry resource bound.

Version 0.28 adds lazy thumbnails, recycled native rows, bounded small-image caching, foreground edit/save priority and atomic page movement. The selected page follows distant jumps and successful reordering. Fit-to-page stays stable through Focus mode. A hidden 500-page fixture and 35 independent example pages were checked; these local results do not establish customer performance or visual parity. Back/Forward arrived in 0.29 and continuous reading in 0.30.

Version 0.29 adds Back/Forward per-tab view history, retained reading anchors, shared page/bookmark/thumbnail/Find jumps and preserved Find results. Invalid drafts and failed renders retain the prior view. Saving and tab changes retain history; document edits reset it. Setup also checks existing files before updating and refuses ten tested lock/path conflict cases without changing installed bytes. These are development-host checks, not a clean Windows or human usability certification.

Version 0.30 adds continuous full-page reading with active-page selection, bounded nearby controls/images and a separate owned read-only worker. Find, Bookmarks, Back/Forward and per-tab reading state share the view. Failed and malformed replies preserve the prior page; delayed transitions prevent competing jumps. Editing returns to the selected single page and changed snapshots invalidate stale images/text. Selection remains within one page; high-zoom reading images are bounded in resolution. No full Acrobat parity or human usability certification is claimed.

Version 0.31 adds reviewed copying of pages from other open PDFs, including applied source edits, actual selected-page previews and one undoable destination change. Source state remains unchanged. Source identity/revision/hash checks refuse stale or closed sources. The review explains source password removal, independent form names, replacement and tagged-PDF reading-order limits. Up to 1,000 pages per operation; source redaction drafts require the actual verified redacted image copy.

Version 0.32 broadens supported horizontal, uniform paragraphs by preserving measured character positions and generated word gaps. Wrapping uses the proposed positions inside the selected frame. Live drafts, font coverage, exact reconstruction, collision and saved-output checks remain in force. This does not infer semantic paragraphs, mix styles or flow across boxes/pages.

Read & select also adds explicit PDF page links and reviewed HTTP(S) destinations, shared Back history, continuous-page targets and twenty-row lists. Unsupported actions remain inactive; no document or website is uploaded or opened just by reading link data.

Version 0.33 adds Keep this reading place and start-screen Return to reading. Explicit local places store verified saved-file identities, page/zoom/fit/anchor and single/continuous view. Existing tabs retain current work. Changed/missing files and password cancellation keep other documents intact. Four initial cards expand to twenty; Remove/Clear keep PDF files. No automatic history collection, PDF text, thumbnails or stored passwords. Unsaved work uses Recover separately.

Version 0.34 adds single-choice form questions: two to twenty answer circles, stable choices, move/resize previews, separate current/reset answers, grouped undo and exact saved appearances. Try filling applies a valid pending question first. The designer supports its own single-page groups; it adds no visible labels, custom tab order or PDF accessibility tags. Imported and unsupported groups remain available for supported filling.

Version 0.35 adds row/column form navigation, numbered field previews, one radio tab stop per question and arrow-key answer selection. Saved navigation retains answers, page appearance and undo history. Version declarations survive subsequent filling and supported design/extraction. Indirect annotation lists now work in form and annotation preview. Tagged/XFA/unknown policies are retained; other readers may resolve irregular fields and links differently. This adds no accessibility tags or arbitrary manual order.

Version 0.36 adds reusable local PDF jobs: ordered rotation, compression and page-number steps, one final PDF/text/page-image output, saved-job revision guards and immutable queue snapshots. The builder preserves rejected drafts. Per-file progress and exact output checks support interruption recovery and retry from the original input. Locked, signed/certified and XFA PDFs fail individually. Jobs do not run scripts, contact services or store passwords.

Version 0.37 gives Create a dedicated workspace: blank pages, typed text or ordered local image/text files. Choose A4, Letter or Legal and portrait or landscape. Ctrl+N opens the choices; only Add files opens a picker. New PDFs open in their own editable tabs. Rejected inputs and cancelled choices keep the creation draft. Text uses measured wrapping, and multipage pictures retain their frame order. This is plain text/image creation, not Office layout conversion.

Version 0.38 adds readable comment previews, combined note/author/page/type filters, a virtualized list and protected note drafts. Valid notes apply before navigation; rejected drafts remain available. Snapshot targets distinguish identical imported notes, and empty annotation slots are accepted by the review index. Local text/JSON reports have explicit all/filtered scope and respect copying permissions. Shared relationships, rich text, replies and unsupported types have explicit editing limits. JSON reports are not XFDF interchange.

Version 0.39 repairs imported forms with harmless empty annotation slots. Preview, filling, manual field design, radio editing, navigation, saved job inspection and page imports accept these documents while preserving real fields and neighbouring content. Unsupported form types and malformed non-empty structures remain limited.

Version 0.40 checks interrupted creation results before a new attempt. Completed PDFs open once; newer drafts, other documents and saved edits remain available. Unknown outcomes offer Check result, failed previews leave retryable tabs, and closing warns about unfinished creation drafts. Drafts are not saved across app exit.

Version 0.41 adds verified previews for completed batch results: editable PDF tabs, text previews and page-image ZIP listings. Interrupted openings check the same result, preserve edits and keep other documents usable. Failed previews leave retryable tabs.

Version 0.42 preserves ordinary and nonbreaking spaces when embedding replacement typefaces. Saved reading, copying and text export retain the supported characters with unchanged font files. Existing fidelity checks and editing limits remain.

Version 0.43 groups existing comment conversations, keeps matching replies with parent context, and shows shared group notes and imported review states. Crowded-page controls stay bounded, and damaged date/status metadata keeps the other readable notes available. At that milestone, reply posting, review-status writing and XFDF interchange were future work.

Version 0.44 adds explicit comment replies with recoverable local drafts. A draft keeps its parent while navigating; closing offers keep, discard or cancel. Posted replies share PDF Undo/Redo and Save a copy. Drafts are local plain text, and display names are unverified. Initial posting supports bounded unencrypted, unsigned PDFs with supported ordinary parent comments. At the 0.44 milestone, reply editing/removal, review-state writing and XFDF interchange remained future work.

Version 0.45 adds explicit review decisions and exact reviewer histories. Standard Accepted, Rejected, Completed, Cancelled and No decision states preserve earlier records through actual previous-state references. Labels and dates are unverified metadata. Navigation keeps a pending choice with its conversation; another PDF edit requires explicit reattachment. Recorded decisions have receipts, Undo/Redo, recovery and Save a copy. Unrecorded choices are not durable reply drafts. Initial writing is bounded to supported unencrypted, unsigned PDFs and unambiguous Review-only histories; locks, mixed/unknown models and malformed relationships are refused. At the 0.45 milestone, reply editing/removal and XFDF interchange remained future work.

Version 0.46 adds corrections to supported posted replies and deliberate leaf-reply removal. Corrections keep the original author and conversation; separate local correction drafts survive navigation and recovery without automatic application. Exact receipts, Undo/Redo and Save a copy preserve applied changes. Removal affects the current comment list; earlier content remains in PDF revisions and Undo history. Dependencies, locks, encryption, signatures, groups, rich text, custom appearances and visible/printed replies are refused. Initial support is for ordinary hidden plain-text replies. At the 0.46 milestone, XFDF exchange and broader imported-reply compatibility remained future work.

Version 0.47 adds local XFDF inspection and complete supported Text-conversation export. Read full supported words, search text or author, and inspect unsupported records with reasons. Export the selected complete conversation or all supported comments with nested replies, decisions and metadata to a new file. Neither operation changes the PDF or sends data elsewhere. Incomplete scopes are refused. Filename/page hints do not establish document correspondence. XML active constructs are refused; rich text, popups, appearances, groups and broader annotation types remain unsupported. At the 0.47 milestone, import was unavailable. Independent XML/PDF.js readback covers actual native exports; no actual Acrobat import or universal interoperability is claimed.

Version 0.48 adds deliberate local import of supported plain-text XFDF sticky notes, ordinary replies and Review decisions. Read each record, inspect proposed positions and explicitly review every affected receiving page before Apply. Exact duplicates are skipped; conflicts and unsupported data block the entire import. Applied comments share Undo/Redo and new-copy Save. Immutable kept reviews survive close/recovery without automatic application, and operation receipts protect interrupted requests. Existing PDF objects and page content are verified. The bounded unsigned, unencrypted subset does not establish universal interoperability or actual Acrobat producer compatibility.

Version 0.49 adds Left/Center/Right alignment and regular line spacing for supported
uniform paragraphs. Tighter/Looser actions, exact points and original-layout reset
work with live drafts, frame adjustments, interrupted-write recovery, Undo/Redo
and saved copies. The first baseline and original font remain fixed. Text with
structural signature/certification/timestamp markers explains its read-only state
before typing; this does not authenticate a signer or validate a certificate.
Mixed styling, complex shaping, justification and automatic lists remain outside
the documented Windows-1252 paragraph subset.

Version 0.50 adds named groups of saved PDFs, per-file availability checks and
verified sequential opening into background tabs. Existing workspaces and views
are kept. Rename/order/removal changes only the local list; password, concurrency,
interruption and capacity checks retain existing data. Groups are saved-file
references, not portfolios, cloud projects or recovery of unfinished edits.
Create from Favorites or the tool picker reaches the creation page directly.

Version 0.51 adds explicit OCR page selection and retained per-tab choices,
corrects text placement on cropped/skewed scans and avoids redundant history
when selected pages already contain text. The actual local recognition and saved
PDF output have independent checks. Word correction/review, replacing existing
OCR layers, semantic tagging and handwriting guarantees are not included.

Version 0.52 adds word-by-word review of a scanned page: compare against the
original image, correct names and numbers, keep corrections for later and apply
the searchable layer with Undo. Protected local reviews can resume after a
restart, with password checks and verified reopening of the kept scan. Windows
recognition uses in-memory image buffers. Existing OCR layer replacement,
complex-script shaping and region OCR remain separate work.

Version 0.53 retains supported PDF password settings during edits, checks saved
security, and adds an owner-access panel with permission and print-limit guidance.
Version 0.52 remained an internal candidate; its OCR word review is included here.

Version 0.54 adds explicit reading and owner passwords, permission choices,
early tool-access guidance and supported protected text and paragraph editing
that retains the original passwords and permissions. Form design requires both
content and comment permissions. Signed form structures remain protected.

Version 0.55 adds input-page previews before combining, independent preview navigation,
long-filename layout and broader measured application-text contrast checks.

Version 0.56 adds ordinary-language task search, clearer editing/review descriptions,
friendly input rejection and explicit recovery-read retry. Scoped automatic
checks include the tool picker and recovery failure states.

Version 0.57 adds reviewed suggestions for simple outlined fields on digital PDF
pages, corrected names and labels, one-step insertion, live filling and Undo.
Scans and unsupported page graphics use manual placement.

Version 0.58 clarifies read-only editing states, gives relevant empty-page actions
and clears obsolete fields after zooming or preview failure. These are tested
engineering outcomes, not a universal usability or PDF-support claim.

Version 0.59 adapts navigation to shorter windows and retains active editing
drafts during resizing. The exact versioned source and distributed artifacts completed the declared
automatic checks. Physical display and assistive-technology behavior remain
separate evidence; no universal usability claim is made.

Version 0.60 adds adjustable side panels, temporary panels for narrower windows,
six named text-color choices and expandable precision controls. Panel changes
retain the current draft. Width choices last within the current window.
